All steam boxes are sold raw. Sealing the wood is recommended to increase the longevity of the wood.  Beeswax or natural oil are recommended. 

Clean with a cloth and your favorite nontoxic surface cleanser. A popular choice among many users is a mixture of water, vinegar, and disinfecting essential oils such as tea tree. Remember that we do not want any harsh products steaming into our delicate pelvic tissues and choose organic whenever possible.
